Meet Liz!
(They/She/He) Licensed Clinical Social Worker
My psychotherapy practice is informed by philosophies of Buddhism, Stoicism, and Existentialism, My approach to therapy is compassionate, warm, and always affirming.
I specialize in providing therapy to clients with intersectional identities, including those who identify as nonbinary or LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent individuals, persons with disabilities or chronic illnesses, and BIPOC. Clients engaging in ethical non-monogamy (ENM) and kink can expect to be welcomed and supported in my practice.
My Approach
My work integrates evidence-based therapies with a mindful, individualized approach designed to create lasting change and emotional clarity. Rather than focusing on symptoms alone, I help clients cultivate awareness, insight, and the inner flexibility needed to live with greater ease and authenticity while honoring the client’s personal goals.
-
Drawing from mindfulness-based cognitive and behavioral principles, I help clients examine how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact.
By identifying and reshaping unhelpful thought patterns, clients learn to experience relief from anxiety, depression, self-criticism, and procrastination.
Behavioral techniques such as exposure and activation support meaningful action and renewed motivation. -
My work is also highly influenced by the dialectical philosophy that informs DBT, especially the balance between acceptance and change.
I teach practical DBT skills in mindfulness, dialectics, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance to help clients navigate life’s complexities with more equanimity and ease. -
ACT emphasizes living in alignment with one’s values while building the capacity to tolerate discomfort.
Through mindfulness and acceptance practices, clients learn to release internal struggle and move toward a more purposeful and fulfilling life, even in the presence of difficult emotions. -
Much of my work involves understanding the inner system of “parts” that make up the self.
Drawing from Ego State Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy, I help clients identify protective and wounded parts, encouraging internal harmony and healing from early relational trauma and attachment wounding. This work allows for deep integration, self-acceptance, and emotional repair.

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of mending broken pottery with lacquer made of precious metals. The repaired pottery is valued more highly than it was in its original unbroken state. The imperfections of the repaired pottery are illuminated and embraced as essential parts of the pottery's personal history.
I use this image of kintsugi pottery to represent the client's therapeutic process—the client enters therapy with perceived "flaws," but through the course of therapy discovers self-acceptance and healing that make the client stronger than before. Like kintsugi, your healing honors your story and reveals the wholeness that has always been within you.
